The soul of this blog focuses on moving myself forward and improving the quality of my life and those immediately around me.  I have been fortunate enough to participate in some amazing organizations and events that really highlight what it means to serve and give back to the community.  In America, our chronic diseases stem from overconsumption and inactivity.  There are others who suffer from the complete opposite; lack of clean water, a supply of food, or even a stable shelter.  Nothing better than getting your hands dirty in community service!

“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Acts 20:35
  • July 2012 ~ Haiti
This July I’m going Haiti to serve alongside Revolution Annapolis at the orphanage Maison de Lumiere. There are 19 of us from this church that are going to spend a week giving support and relief to the daily operations of the orphanage. My fundraising website has some awesome videos of what Child Hope has been able accomplish in Haiti along with the mission of Maison de Lumiere. This is my first missions trip and could not be more excited to share my experience when I return. Really a blessing to be able to take a week off from work and actively be the hands and feet of Jesus.

  • March 25th, 2012 ~ Feed 100K
Stop Hunger Now partnered with Revolution Annapolis & Centerpoint Church to package 111,000 meals to send to Africa!  The coolest thing about this day was how many people showed up to package the meals and that we went over our initial goal of sending 100,000 meals and were able to send 111,000!  We had 5 sessions of groups who packed meals, all the size of people in the bottom picture! *amazing*

  • February 11th, 2012 ~ Habitat for Humanity
Spent a whole day with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake.  What an awesome day.  Cold and a little rainy but I had a warm coffee & house to snuggle up in afterwards!  I learned to tear up some pipes and put up a wood fence!  Met great people, even a fellow Michigander from Livonia!  Small world coming together.  Definitely plan on putting in some more hours with them in Baltimore again this summer.  The good problem is they have waiting lists to participate!

  • December 17th,2011 ~ Feed 500 Annapolis
Packaged and delivered 500 meals the week prior to Christmas with Tony and Revolution Annapolis.  We partnered with Food Link who is a Maryland non-profit. Really touches home when you deliver meals to families in need in the same zip code as your own family.
